Since hardwood cannot be installed over existing flooring, the current floors will need to be removed and disposed of entirely. Complete all painting in the room before installation. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed, and any imperfections repaired, you are ready for new floors. Bring hardwood planks into the room to acclimate for 48 hours prior to installation day.
During Your Installation:
On the day of your new hardwood installation, an adult needs to be home to answer any questions that may arise for the installation crew. Designate an area in the home for the installers to keep dangerous tools, keep hardwood planks, and saw planks as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the rooms receiving new floors and the worker’s area during the installation process.
After Your Installation:
Once your new hardwood installation is complete, now is the time to ask any questions you may have. It’s important to wait the specified amount of time before walking on the new floors or returning furniture back into the room. Always return furniture by either lifting pieces or using appropriate equipment with wheels.
